Abstract: Editorial to the Special Issue of the Journal of Evolutionary Economics (30/2020). Authors provide a literature-based overview on concepts such structural change and related sustainability as an introductory context to the collection of articles that follows. The focus is on structural change and the potential danger of a new age of capitalism which is being shaped by several and different fields such as financialization and roboticization, combined with jobless growth and low levels of productivity growth in the services sector, and the need to integrate sustainability issues at the supply and demand levels.
