Abstract: In the contemporary debate on education modernization strategies, innovation is one of the privileged ways to reform and improve the education systems of each country. Since 2020, in which the COVID-19 pandemic began, the debate on innovation and teaching has accelerated, bringing about transformations to the organizational-teaching model of the Italian school. The opportunities offered by ICT, new digital technologies and digital languages, are affecting the educational proposal and learning. In particular, in the context of the debate of dichotomy of teaching in presence or distance, to the advantage of the hybrid (blended), for the purpose of a high learning result, satisfied students and high school status completion rates. In the light of international literature and some experiences, this work intends to reflect on the consequences of the relationship between digital technologies, teaching and learning in Italian schools.
