Diversity or Convergence in the Platform Economy?

Abstract

This presentation deals with controversial aspects generated by the sharing economy. Despite all the good claims which have brought to their spreading, sharing platforms quickly became controversial leading to unfair competition (ignored regulations and broke laws) and externalities (housing supply, rents, neighborhood quality) and so generating new conflicts and inequalities.
